Welcome to the Rainbow Café web site, giving information about our food, the restaurant and delivery services for the ONLY vegetarian restaurant in Cambridge (England).

Rainbow is unique in Cambridge serving only totally vegetarian, vegan and gluten free food. Fully approved and authorised by the vegetarian society. Everything is freshly made daily on the premises, from natural ingredients without additives, colourings or flavourings.
For those with food intolerances we can state every ingredient and our famous home-made soups are made without added stock. All cheeses are vegetarian and non-dairy spread is used for herb and garlic *butter*.

Swedish glace Ice Cream is made from soy and is therefore vegan as well as being low cholesterol and low in fat. All wines, beers and ciders are vegan, and ecologically produced without the usual additives which can cause allergy and intolerance problems.

All eggs used in the omelettes, crêpes and cakes are free range, Beer, Cider and Wine is organic, and suitable for vegans.Children and babies are made welcome and we can provide highchairs and other baby items.

Our mission is to make all our customers feel good about their food - not just vegetarians but everyone who appreciates delicious fresh food.

We aim to break away from the traditional image and have drawn upon the international origins of our staff and customers over the years, as well as reflecting upon our own travelling experiences to create new recipes that excite and stimulate the taste buds.

Established at this location as a vegetarian restaurant for over twenty-one years, Rainbow now provide an excellent choice for vegans and for customers with specific dietary requirements as all food is cooked from fresh ingredients on the premises.
Please note that access to the restaurant is via a traditional narrow passageway and a staircase of twelve broad safety steps.
